I’m going skiing in the French Alps for Christmas, but on Christmas Eve I want to call my family on Skype. I don’t really know anything about the area we’re skiing in – Les Contamines. As far as I can tell its near Chamonix. Do I need to go to Chamonix for internet, and if so, how would I get there from Les Contamines? Thanks.
I am going on a tour with a UK company which has booked out a 200 bed chalet. I don’t think there is internet there. I don’t particularly want to take my laptop, either. I’m more wondering if there are any cyber cafe kind of places?

In a return journey from the UK to the French Alps, my diesel car produces 670kg of carbon in a week. How many trees do I need to plant to offset this?

I want to be reminded of my time in the french alps. I believe ingedients included beaujolais, orange zest, cinnamon and a variety of other spices.
If someone has a recipe with preperation instructions I will honor you with a toast. Preferably a recipe you can vouch for!
Cheers!

I heard the French president called her yet, again, and invited her to partner with him in a moose hunting lodge in the French alps. She said it looked like a good opportunity. She could see it from her back yard. So she quit her job. What are the chances of that?

hi,
I’m trying to fing out about a dish I ate in the French Alps a few years ago. I think it was call "tarteflat" or something like this. It was a small baked dish that was made of potatoes, delicious white colored cheese and a choice of ham or bacon. It was very rich and tasty.
If anyone knows the correct name and spelling, that would be great, or a recipe would be even better.
Thanks!
No pastry, just baked in a little dish…

Does anyone know a good website/organisation that has weather data for 1998/1999 season in the French Alps?
It’s for a project on avalanche hazards, and this is a very representative season.

Um for homework we’re supposed to label a map of France, and we need to label the French Alps and Swiss Alps. I know where the Alps is but is the French and Swiss Alps both in the Alps? And is one more north/south/east/west than the other? I’m really confused, and I also don’t know where the Avignon river is.
Help, please? ![]()
i mean, where they on the map (how close are they to other major places…)

I am hoping to visit the French Alps this Christmas. I have less than a week and I’m mostly interested in sightseeing – not so much skiing.
1. Which two towns are the most picturesque?
2. Which town is the most central for the purpose of sightseeing the French Alps areas?
3. What are the must see spots in the French Alps?
